Attention artists and creative people who love a challenge! Studio 659 will be hosting a Live Art event. All works created right in front of your eyes! All levels are welcome from beginners to the pros!
Artists will have 2 pieces of work hanging in the show. The first piece can be anything already completed to show as an example portraying the artist’s particular style. The completed piece must be wired and ready to hang. Pieces to be worked on “Live” cannot be completed pieces, but a sketch or a summary of the work plan can be created ahead of time. Please send completed artwork and a description of what is planned to be created “Live” to Chantene@studio659.org . Deadline is January 25th.
The rules for “Live” art are…
Paintings or drawings:
Artists begin working between 6:30pm & 7pm; they will create their pieces as you watch and all artwork must be hung by 9pm.
Artists may have a sketch of what they plan to create during the appropriate time slot.
If a timely set up is required, artists can schedule a time to meet the curator at the studio the week of the event.
All pieces must be wired and hung by 9pm.
You may bring props or a reasonable subject to photograph during the time allotted. No previously taken photos are allowed for “Live” art with the exception of your 1 completed piece already framed.
Photo must be printed using a portable printer, or going to a nearby facility (such as Walgreen’s) to print your work during the time allotted.
Plan to bring a wired frame, the appropriate size for your work, to be hung by 9pm.
Musicians are welcome to come and entertain during this event. Please contact the curator ahead of time to plan a time slot.
