Studio 659 in Whiting will be hosting a holiday exhibit entitled “The Gift of Giving.” We are celebrating our global culture and exploring traditions of sharing and of compassion and selflessness. We have people from all corners of Earth visiting Whiting this year, from England to Africa to Asia to South America, and this exhibit will provide an opportunity for us to get to know each other just a little better.

Submitted art should celebrate or be in keeping with a cultural, family, or national gift-giving tradition. Think of the things you make for each other, like baby booties and Christmas ornaments and Dreidels.

We will be hosting a small global gift market December 10 in conjunction with this exhibit. Artists and craftspeople can rent table space to display and sell their homemade items.

This program has been made possible through a matching grant from Indiana Humanities in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Humanities.
